Path to the Park, Valley Stream

As a teaming partner on this storm resiliency project, Arora prepared contract plans, specifications and estimates for the bulkhead replacement/shoreline restoration at Brook Road Park.  As part of the design process, Arora developed an alternatives analysis for the proposed bulkhead and living shoreline, that minimized the impacts to the landward facilities in order to maintain old growth trees and the existing tennis court.  Arora also prepared the design and detailing for an overlook in place of the existing fill/abutment for a since removed pedestrian bridge over Valley Stream.  All work was coordinated with the NY Rising community Reconstruction Plan for the Town of Hempstead’s consideration.  All work was performed within the allocated budgets and schedule.
