Job Description
Responsibilities:
As a senior civil engineer:
- Perform the planning and design of roadway projects
- Lead the preparation of studies, plans, specifications, and estimates for a variety of projects
- Manage a team of engineers and planners working on the design of civil/traffic/transportation project for Illinois transportation agencies
- Coordinate subconsultants
- Ensure compliance with company’s QA/QC plan
- Visit project sites to investigate conditions
- Communicate and coordinate with clients’ representatives
- Assist with preparing technical and cost proposals
- Assist with business development in the civil/traffic/transportation engineering space
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering
- PE license in Illinois
- 10 years or more of progressive experience and responsibility in one or more of the following technical areas: roadway design and geometrics, traffic engineering, roadway safety analysis and engineering, ITS, and hydraulic analysis and design
- Knowledgeable about design standards, policies and procedures Illinois transportation agencies such as IDOT and the Illinois Tollway
- Knowledge of Microstation/Geopak Open Roads Designer and/or AutoCAD/Civil 3D
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
- Experience managing a team of professionals in different disciplines
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients and coworkers
- Strong presentation and written communication skills
