Job Description

Responsibilities
As a leader of an interdisciplinary design team, coordinate utility relocations for transportation projects among clients, utility owners, designers, and contractors: Solicit information from utility owners about their facilities:

•    Solicit information from utility owners about their facilities
•    Communicate project needs to utility owners and work with them to develop relocation schemes
•    Oversee design sketches, drawings, and renderings using CADD
•    Prepare engineering reports and contract documents such as specifications, schedules, and cost estimates
•    Perform field work to investigate existing and construction conditions
•    Review contractor’s submissions, working drawings, and respond to RFIs
•    Cooperate and coordinate with other design team members

Requirements:
•    A bachelor’s degree in engineering
•    10-15 progressive years of related progressive civil engineering design experience
•    A minimum of 5 design projects for NJDOT within the past 10 years
•    Strong written and verbal communication skills
•    PE License in the state of NJ or the ability to get a PE license within the next 6 months
•    Ability to work independently and as part of a design team

Valuable Skills:
•    Familarity with MicroStaion and AutoCADD, MSWord and Excel
•    Working knowledge of NJDOT, PennDOT, or any NY Agency is a plus
•    Organized, determined, with the ability to multitask and prioritize competing project demands

Compensation is dependent upon factors such as education, qualifications, experience, skillset, and physical work location.
