Job Description

Arora and Associates, PC is seeking qualified applicants for the following position in our Lawrenceville, NJ office:

Traffic Design Engineer (PIII)  (L-2020-2)

Responsibilities:

As a member of an interdisciplinary team,

• Prepare traffic impact studies, feasibility assessments, intersection analyses, access and circulation plans and studies
• Design traffic elements and prepare plans for roadway improvements, traffic signals, pavement markings, signing, temporary traffic control during construction
• Prepare design sketches, drawings and renderings using CADD
• Prepare specifications and estimates
• Cooperate and coordinate with other design team members
• Supervise and check work of less experienced engineers
• Visit project sites to investigate conditions
• Review contractor submittals such as working drawings and RFIs

Requirements:

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or Transportation Engineering
• 5-10 years of progressive experience in traffic engineering including:
  • Experience with standards of NY/NJ transportation agencies such as the PANYNJ.
  • Experience with traffic engineering software such as GuideSign, HCS, AutoTurn, SYNCHRO, VISSIM and SimTraffic
  • Experience designing traffic elements including MPT, safety countermeasures, regulatory and guide signs
• Proficiency with AutoCAD or MicroStation
• Familiarity with MUTCD
• NY or NJ PE and PTOE preferred
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
